How Small  Talk Saved a Life : Transcript

 

Anne Marie: I have a wonderful Starbucks barista that changed my life.              

                   In fact, she saved my life. She never knew my   but she                        knew what  I

 

Sandy:       "Short drip, double cap."

 

Sandy.       Anne Marie has a habit of counting out her to pay for her

                  coffee, so that gave us a few extra to make small talk                      You'd be surprised at what you can find out in 30 seconds of 

                  talk every day.

 

Anne Marie:   So there was one morning when I came in and it was a very,

                     very morning in Washington State and the neat thing is

                     Sandy that my demeanour was

 

Sandy:         I found out that her kidneys had and that she had  just

                    been placed on Dialysis.

 

Anne Marie:    I had just been on the National Kidney transplant list

                      because none of my members qualified to be a donor

                       for me.

 

Sandy:           I thought I have to help this She doesn't need a hug.                         She needs a kidney. And I thought I do this.

 

Anne Marie:    She instantaneously lifted her hands up in the air and she said I

                       would like to for you

 

Sandy:            It was twenty four for me to find out but five days before

                      I could tell her it was a because it was a week before

                      she  in to get her cup of Joe.  ( a cup of coffee)

 

Anne-Marie:  And she reached over and my hand, and she said I'm

                     a blood match. I'm for it.

 

Sandy:            I gave "short drip double cup"  my kidney.

 

Anne Marie:     You truly are the I prayed for., I thank you gfrom the

                      bottom of my heart for g going on this with me and

                      me back my life, love your friend Anne Marie.

 

Sandy:            30 second chats a day can your life. It's amazing to me

                      that more people do it If they saw the outcome, I think

                      they would.

 

PAUSE ( LAUGHS)

 

Sandy:             Something funny is that my husband has one for me.

                       Next time someone comes into don't give them any

                       more parts.
